LOVE FOR THE PEOPLE

June 2, 2020
Christian Leadership is solely about the kingdom of God. Other purposes of Christian Leadership ought to be tied to or be an appendage of this sole and primary purpose. The kingdom of God is for God and His people. So, a Christian leader is called by God and assigned to His kingdom and His people.

Love for the people is therefore a great requirement for Christian leadership. One cannot love God without loving the people He sent His only Son to suffer, die and rise for.

Jesus, our leadership example declared this in Mark 12:30-31 “Our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”

The focus therefore is the passion for the people as a Christian Leader, to see them reflect and manifest the image and glory of God. The Christian leadership goal is to see the Lord in charge of the souls. Which means the redemption of the soul of every man and the maturity of every soul to become fruitful in the kingdom of God should be the greatest hunger of Christian Leaders.

THE LOVE THAT CAN BE SEEN AND TOUCHED

It is not enough for a Christian Leader to speak about love; it must be seen in him and touched by all. It is a great measuring yard stick -that his/her love for the people must be seen and touched. This is beyond perception.

1 John 1:1, ’’That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;’’

John 1:14, ‘’And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.’’

THE LORD AND THE PEOPLE NEED TO SEE IT

This is the love the Lord wants to see in Christian leaders. This is the love that followers want to see and not be told of about in Christian Leadership. It is this love of Christ that can draw men unto the Lord. It is this love that can make the leader fruitful indeed. This empirical love makes the work of the leader continue after him. It is the kind of love that gives the right motive for all leaders do and does not allow the work of leadership to burn at Judgment.
Hear the Lord Jesus on the nature of the love of Christian leadership – Mark 10:21. “Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, one thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.”
John 13:34 “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

To love this way, demands the supernatural. A Christian leader should love the people the way they are and most importantly for what they will become through the love of Christ as shown and manifested all the time in the leader’s life.

In conclusion, remember the song, ‘He loves me I cannot say why?” This is what people ought to say about your Christian Leadership style. The love of Christ manifested by the leader must also be amazing and remain amazing to the people all the time. It is what the Lord wants to conclude about you, ‘he loves me, and he loves my people.’

Thank you for sharing this with me. Our love should be unconditional, not eye service love.
God bless you . I am tremendously blessed. Hallelujah.
