The Levite and the Priest that passed by, leaving victim of armed robbery in the pool of his blood had church position and title. They were insensitive and irresponsive. The Good Samaritan had neither church position nor title but he was a useful vessel in the Hand of God to save a dying man.

Of what use is church title and position without concerted service? What is the essence of religious appellation without sincere service? It is obvious that people, especially ministers who scramble for positions and titles are not completely yielded and surrendered to the will, way and word of God. This is the reason for the eye and lip service they render. They are simply ignorant of the truth Jesus established that the greatest is the least; the servant.

There is something better than sacrifice. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Moses obeyed by building according to pattern. Rather than obey and tarry for Prophet Samuel, Saul offered the sacrifice he was not qualified to offer. Moreover, he did not totally annihilate the Amalekites.

There is something better than not enough. Several people live in the class of not enough. No enough money, clothing, food and the niceties of life. Though he sat at the gate of the temple to receive alms, he never had enough. He had to sit at the gate every day. You do not belong to this group. There is something better for you.

There is something better than just enough. Some people have just enough of money, clothing and food. They do not lack but are not a channel of blessing. The five virgins had just enough oil in their lamp! They did not have what could benefit the other unwise virgins who came back late from their search for oil. They could not give of their oil to save their colleagues.

This is the class majority of people belong. They barely have enough and so, they have none to spare. They barely get by, only sufficient but not surplus. They cannot save, spare or invest. When money is needed to propagate the gospel, they are incapacitated. There is something better. Not enough is bad. Just enough is good but more than enough is better. May this be your portion in the precious name of Jesus!

There is something better than being single. The Bible states clearly that it is not good for man to be alone. The Bible also says that two are better than one. And one shall chase a thousand but two shall chase ten thousand. Are you single though of marriageable age? You can be married. You can find a suitor and tie the nuptial cord.

There is something better than just marriage. God tells us in His word to be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth (Genesis 1:28). ‘Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table’ (Psalms 128:3). Are you married? Go ahead and bear children. You are not permitted to be barren. I command to go and bear children in Jesus name!

There is something better than bearing children. The outlaws in the society and church today are products of the family. Rearing children in the fear of the Lord is certainly better. Hophni and Phinehas, the sons of Eli were mischievous and naughty. They did not follow the leadership and instructions of their father. God testified about Abraham: ‘For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him’- Gen. 18:19.

It is not enough to bear children; we must rear them according to the word of God. Great shall be our peace if our children are taught of the Lord. We must nurture them properly.
