The recent elections have thrown up the issues of false prophets and false prophecies how do we deal with the fall outs?
Let me start with some bold statements on this matter:
- Prophets and Prophecies are scriptural, and every Christian should desire to exercise this gift, therefore the recent crisis of confidence in Nigeria regarding these should not affect us as ministers. (1 Cor. 14:1)
- False prophets and false prophecies have been from the days of old and they are signs of the end time. ( Matthew 24:24,)
- The litmus test of any prophet is whether the prophecy comes to pass! At least we now know who the false prophets are. (Deut. 18:20-22)
For Nigeria and the recently concluded elections, I would counsel that we withhold judgment concerning some of the prophecies and governance generally as things are still unfolding.
As members of the RCCG, we have a genuine Prophet in our midst; I see no reason why we listen to all manner of prophecies served on Social Media.
Let us strive to hear God ourselves; rather than always going in search of seers.
